Overall, Its been a good week!!.

I have been unwell this week.

It was awful and I suspect that I was hit with covid.

I had forgotten about covid and the pandemic.

I had a job doing covid testing for the Office for National Statistics and I got to drive for miles, alone on quiet roads, it was peaceful.

I really liked the quiet roads and cheap petrol.

The only other vehicles I saw were amazon drivers and logging wagons.

I really liked making the appointments and spending time with people, some of whom were grateful for a bit of socially distanced company.

It feels good that my work will be used in analysing the response to the pandemic.

None of that was in my head when I woke up at an odd angle on my bathroom floor.

I was making primitive noises, struggling to breathe and with two dogs lying down and looking at me.

I will freely admit to being scared and I crawled to my phone and phoned Jane.

It may not have been the best week to rehome a fur baby.

Jane is amazing, and she had fallen in love with Del Boy.

Del Boy has settled in well and he and Lucky are sharing tips on how to make friends and influence humans.

Lucky is now feeling better and his final visit to the vet has been postponed.

He is just needing a little help going down the stairs.

I understand just how unfit I am and I have started to address this with eating better and moving more.

I will start with less biscuits.

Overall, it’s been a good week.

Bonskeid House, Faskally, with members of the Barbour family in 1920, just prior to it becoming a youth hostel in 1921, my great gran is in the photo, although i am unable to identify her.

Historic Environment Scotland records the present Bonskeid House as an 1881 Andrew Heiton building incorporating an earlier house dating from around 1805. Local historical accounts identify it as the home of the Barbour family before they let it to the YMCA in 1921.

The fingerprints remain on the photograph because it has been held and kept. Bonskeid later became a place from my own childhood when I attended a music camp there during primary school. The house returned to private ownership in 2001.
