Studio Service
Some places stay with us forever: a childhood home, a family farm, a workplace, a village or a landscape filled with memories.
For a £20 research fee, Contour Lines will search historic map collections and curate up to 10 maps connected to a place that matters to you.
The research fee includes one complimentary finished image, supplied as an A4 printed map of choice.
After reviewing the collection, you may choose to order additional printed maps from A5 to A1. Additional images are charged at the standard prices shown above. There is no obligation to purchase the full collection.
To begin, complete the order form and include the location, any relevant dates, addresses, landmarks or family details that may help with the search.

Delivery Information
Printed Products
All printed products are produced to order.
Standard production and dispatch time is 5–7 working days from receipt of payment.
Delivery times are additional and depend on the destination and postal service selected.
Customers will be notified if unexpected delays occur.
Packaging
Printed products are carefully packaged using appropriate materials to minimise the risk of damage during transit.
Packaging may include:
- Postal tubes
- Rigid mailers
- Protective wrapping
- Backing materials
Packaging methods will vary according to product size and shipping requirements.
Delivery Issues
If an order has not arrived within a reasonable period after dispatch, customers should contact Contour Lines as soon as possible.
Every effort will be made to assist with locating delayed items.
Refund Policy
Printed Products
Customers purchasing standard printed products online have the right to cancel their order within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason.
Customers must inform Contour Lines of their decision to cancel and return the product within 14 days of notifying us. Products should be returned securely packaged and in the condition in which they were received.
A full refund will be issued after the returned product has been received and inspected. Contour Lines may make a reasonable deduction where handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the product has reduced its value.
Customers are responsible for the cost of returning unwanted products unless the item is damaged, defective or incorrect.
This cancellation right does not normally apply to products created to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised.
